The inaugural Grail Quest Race was held in September, just down the road from Harry’s HQ.
We stocked up our carts with cider and went along to provide refreshments for the weary warriors.
The Grail Quest Race is a 10km medieval themed, ‘tough mudder’ style obstacle race.
The obstacles ranged from flipping a cart to climbing the Walls of Jericho.
Although only in its first year, it was a huge success, attracting around 140 competitors – including one couple who had travelled from Wales for the event.
Family and friends were able to cheer and jeer from the side-lines, with many finding a nice spot at Harry’s bar and sampling area to enjoy the occasion, while their other halves were getting caked in mud.
Other entertainment on the day included a medieval re-enactment group, archery and a children’s obstacle course. Harry’s Cider was situated next to a stand selling delicious chicken satay skewers, which went really well with our Dabinett Cider!
It was a lovely warm day and both the Harry’s Original and Harry’s Dabinett ciders were very popular, particularly the Dabinett at only 4.5% alcohol, providing thirst-quenching refreshment for the spectators enjoying the sunshine, as well as those who’d tested their metal against the course.
