We hope that you are all keeping well during these challenging times and are well placed for the summer months to come.
Although, there has been a different pace of life for many of us, the transition from spring to summer seems no different. Our orchards have been looking incredible with the May sunshine beaming down, and we can now see fruitlets forming which is great. If these long hot days continue then we are likely to see higher sugar levels in the apples, and as a result some lovely fruity cider being made for our 2020 vintage.
As many of you will know, small businesses have been hit hard during this pandemic and our business is no different. With pubs closed and festivals a write off for the year, we have lost around 75% of our sales. However, we have had to adapt to the changes and have been grateful for the support we have had online and from local residents dropping by the farm to collect their cider.
With the main cider drinking season ahead of us we plan to continue our 15% discount online and will remain open here on the farm 6 days a week. We also, have an exciting Cheese & Cider evening on Thursday 18th June at 7pm on our Instagram account – we have paired up with Barber’s Cheese and will be talking and tasting our way through our whole sparkling range along with their vintage cheddar, red Leicester, as well as a Somerset Brie and a Stilton.
